International
women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 because in 1908 146 female workers died in
an arson attack at Cotton Textile Factory in New York. The fire was caused by the incendiary bombs that
were launched when women refused to leave their confinement as a protest for
their low wages and poor working conditions. So many workers were killed
because when they wanted to escape from smoke and flames, exit doors had been
closed.

The hard
working women
The day of
the hard-working women is celebrated on March 8 because this day many women get a prize for fighting for the humanity and for the rights of the women.
The first edition took place in 1911
in Alemania ,
Austria , Dinamarca
and Swiss. Since then, numerous countries exteded its commemoration. In
1977 the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (ONU) proclaimed
March 8 as International Day for the women’s rights and the international
peace.
Las mujeres
trabajadoras.
